Cervélo provides small bikes for little victories: LPV to race R3 Squoval™ in 2012

Chicago, IL – Les Petites Victoires (LPV) is pleased to welcome Cervélo as the team’s first sponsor. Cervélo will supply its market-leading R3 Squoval™ bicycles to the women of LPV (in 48cm, of course). The R3 is engineered to optimize strength, stiffness and comfort, while offering low weight in every situation. Unlike many other manufacturers, Cervélo ensures that its range scales proportionally, resulting in a 48cm R3 that has the same razor sharp handling as the larger frames–yet is still comfortable for lighter riders. The LPV custom Cervélo R3s will be screened with each rider’s unique color scheme and representative icon.

“I’m fairly certain the R3 Squoval™ will make quick work of the overwhelming sentimental attachment, that I feel for my first race bike,” said Cady Chintis.

“We are glad Cervélo decided to extend its sponsorship to all four members of the team, instead of making us all share the same bike,” added Liz So.

Cervélo has a long tradition of supporting women at the highest level of the sport. Cervélo’s Pro Women’s team has been ranked number one in the world for the past three years. Team Garmin-Cervélo, includes the current UCI World Time Trial Champion, Emma Pooley, Italian National Time Trial Champion and Italian National Road Race Champion, Noemi Cantele and UK National Road Race Champion, Lizzie Armitstead.

Les Petites Victoires (LPV) is a Chicago-based amateur elite racing team. The four-woman roster holds many cycling palmares including wins at the Tour of Elk Grove, Realty Gateway Cup, Superweek, and the Tour of America’s Dairyland, in addition to holding the top three spots from the 2011 Illinois Cup series. During the first year, LPV hopes to improve the experience of local competitions with consistent team-oriented racing, leading by example. The team acknowledges that this is no easy feat, hence choosing a team name from the French phrase which means ‘Small Victories’ to emphasize small, but significant, gains.
